Prayer support

Middlesex Township supervisors Mike Spreng, Donald P. Marshall and James “Hap” Evans were elected to serve as our leaders. Over the past 24 months I have witnessed them having to make some of the most controversial decisions in the township’s history.

The decisions are not easy ones. They impact people’s lives and futures. I believe each of these men understands this — they do not take it lightly. Each of them can relate to the concerns and cries of the residents. They too are fathers, husbands, sons, business owners, brothers and caretakers. They desire to do the right thing. They are everyday learners being educated with new situations.

I believe they are men who are humble but yet confident. They are leaders who are liked and whom we elected to help us feel safe in our community. Unfortunately, I am seeing fair-weather fans of these supervisors emerging. They are being criticized, slandered and ridiculed. It reminds me of how we behave as sports fans; if we think our team is going to take us to the championship, we jump on the bus and wave our towels, wear the team colors and cheer. The behavior changes, however, when that favored team has a bad game and loses the opportunity; the negative remarks fly out, comments of “if only they would have done this or that” and then the worst is personal attacks on the coach or players.

Life happens. A decision to act this way also impacts lives and futures.

If anyone would be interested in gathering to pray for these men and our township, please contact me at middlesextwpprayerteam@gmail and together we will arrange a time to lift them to our Lord God and ask for his help and wisdom in their future decisions.
