The U.S. Social Security Administration office in Butler will have extended hours due to an increase in federal funding.

George Ziecina, district manager for the office at 102 Woody Drive, said beginning March 16 the office will be open an extra hour per day, four days a week.

Office hours at that time will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays when they are 9 a.m. to noon.

HARRISBURG — State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12, of Cranberry Township will be the featured on the Pennsylvania Cable Network's “On The Issues” program at 8 p.m. today.During this half-hour interview, Metcalfe will discuss his soon-to-be-reintroduced resolution to impeach Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

HARRISBURG — State Sen. Randy Vulakovich, R-40th, and Sen. Pat Stefano, R-32nd, has reintroduced a bill requiring legislators to provide receipts to receive reimbursement from the state.Currently, House and Senate members can submit for an “unvouchered per diem,” meaning legislators can claim up to $159 daily for doing legislative duties outside of their legislative districts and while in Harrisburg without submitting receipts.“There have been too many media reports questioning the integrity of the state's unvouchered per diem system of reimbursement and thereby questioning the integrity of the user of the system. It's time we end this practice and make the system more accountable,” Vulakovich said.Senate Bill 335 has been introduced and referred to the Senate State Government Committee.
