8:24 p.m. Tuesday — Matthias J. Johnson and Daniel C. Sharp were arrested after police found them in an apartment in the 600 block of West New Castle Street without the tenant's permission.The tenant, who has been in an undisclosed treatment, notified police after he drove past his apartment and saw the inside lights were on, according to court documents.Officers got there and knocked on the door. When Johnson answered the door he had two knives in his hands. The officers ordered him to drop the knives and they called out if anyone else was in the apartment.Sharp, who appeared from a rear bedroom, told police that he believed he had permission to be there.Police said they searched Johnson and found a suspected crack cocaine pipe in his jacket pocket.Johnson and Sharp were both arraigned on felony charges of trespass. Johnson also is charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. They are in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail each.

Tuesday — Police filed felony and other charges against Donald J. Stewart, 33, of Butler in connection with a theft-related case last year.Stewart is accused of using a credit card that he obtained fraudulently to make thousands of dollars worth of purchases of Lowe's gift cards and copper pipe in November and December.He is charged with felony counts of access device and identify theft and a misdemeanor count of forgery.

11:24 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Adam J. Brunson, 20, of Grove City hit a sign post and a tree on Pine Street just west of Monroe Street. Police cited Brunson for driving too fast for conditions.Tuesday — A checkbook and debit card were stolen Monday or Tuesday from the 400 block of Flower Avenue. Police noted that other property also was stolen but those unspecified items were recovered.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.10:36 p.m. Monday — Two Grove City men face charges after police were called for a fight in an alley in the 100 block of West Poplar Street. Nicholas Barnes Sr., 21, was arrested on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkennessBarnes was arraigned on the charges and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail.The other suspect, Bradley Grossman, 20, is charged with disorderly conduct and underage drinking.

6:45 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Mark B. Zebracki, 39, of Leechburg and a sport utility vehicle driven by Richard A. Lowry Jr., 35, of Sarver collided on Route 28 about one-half mile south of Exit 11 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.Zebracki was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

9:32 a.m. Monday — A hit-and-run driver caused a spin-out crash in Jackson Township, Mercer County.Police said the suspect was traveling north on Interstate 79 and was changing lanes when he hit the back of a sport utility vehicle. Karen A. Didier, 56, of North York, Ohio, lost control of her SUV and spun into a guardrail.

Friday — Police filed charges against Keith A. Englert, 50, stemming from a Jan. 20 domestic dispute with his wife, Brianna Englert, at their home in the 400 block of Browns Hill Road.Brianna Englert told police that during the altercation her husband threatened her, according to court documents. She also told officers that she has medical problems and is dependent on caregivers, including her husband.An ambulance crew was called to the house to check on her condition. The crew found that she was “having breathing problems and fast heart rate,” a police affidavit said. She refused further treatment at a hospital.Keith Englert is charged with terroristic threats and harassment.

5:45 a.m. Jan. 19 — A pickup truck driven by Aaron J. Patton, 37, of Franklin struck a ditch and large tree along Route 308 just south of Kennerdell Road in Clinton Township. Patton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries.The Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene. Police cited Patton for disregarding traffic lanes and a seat belt violation.
