Frank Sohn

Frank J. Sohn Jr., 89, of Clarks Mills, formerly of Zelienople, passed away Friday at UPMC Horizon in Greenville.

Born on Oct. 19, 1925, in San Diego, Calif., he was the son of the late Frank J. and Clara King Sohn Sr.

Frank was a former longtime member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a former Commander of the American Legion of Troy Hill. Upon retirement, Frank enjoyed making chocolate candies. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving daughter, Linda (Ed) Breitenstein of Clarks Mills, and his three adored grandchildren, Lynn (Bud) Ols of Garrettsville, Ohio, Laura (Bob) Grguras of Allison Park and Neal Breitenstein of Callery.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth D. Sohn, who passed away on Nov. 7, 2000; his sister, Iva; and his brother, Robert.

Sohn — Frank's family will welcome friends of Frank J. Sohn Jr., who passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A blessing service with military honors will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Father Lawrence R. Smith, celebrant. Frank will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ross Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Frank's honor in support of The National World War II Museum, 945 Magazine St., New Orleans, LA 70130.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Frank's family at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
