The Butler boys’ indoor track and field team won a pair of relay events at an open high school invitational hosted by Edinboro University over the weekend.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Bob Burdine, Connor Frost, Nicoli Peterson and John Yanotty won its event, as did the 4x800 relay unit of Josh Rader, Brandon Critchlow, Patrick Fullerton and Evan Knauer.

Also medaling for the Golden Tornado were Jeff Bailey, Derek Gengler, Lamont Hoy and Nathan Kibbie.

Girls BasketballCardinal Wuerl North Catholic picked up another Section 2-A victory, crushing host Eden Christian 69-34 on Monday.The Trojanettes improved to 10-1 in section play and 15-4 overall.

Private SchoolsThe Penn Christian Academy girls basketball team defeated Cheswick Christian, 13-8, as Carlie Baker scored four points.Baker scored seven points in the PCA girls’ 14-13 loss to Evangel Heights Christian Academy.
