Fire on Friday destroys mobile home

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — A double-wide trailer is a total loss following a fire today in the 8000 block of Old Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.

Township Fire Chief George Johnson said crews responded to the fire about 9 a.m.

“There were flames coming out of the eaves of the structure, so it was pretty well under way when we got there,” Johnson said.

Crews were there until about 1:40 p.m.

Johnson said Robbie and Valerie Leasure, who are siblings, lived in the home. The American Red Cross was called to assist them.

No injuries were reported.

The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which was just over the Butler County line.

The Portersville Volunteer Fire Department assisted with the call.
