SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — At least one person was killed this morning in a traffic crash on Fox Road just off Route 422 near Living Treasures Animal Park, authorities said,

The wreck happened about 7:45 a.m. just west of the Butler County line, and apparently involved at least two vehicles, according to a dispatcher for the Lawrence County Communications Center.

State police are investigating but an accident report was not immediately available. The Slippery Rock Township and Shenango Township volunteer fire departments and the Noga and Medevac ambulance services were called.

Lawrence County Deputy Coroner Alfred Decardo said a Noga Ambulance crew member called him to the scene on Fox Road. Decardo was en route and had no other information.

Police said they received reports of icy roads on Route 422 and neighboring roads but it was not known if road conditions were a factor in the crash.
