Butler Police

5:20 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction accident at West Jefferson and Chestnut streets. The crash happened when a car driven by Sabrina F. Crawford, 19, of Petrolia struck the back of a car stopped at a red light.

The rear-end collision pushed the car, driven by Katlyn C. Davanzati, 25, of Butler into the back of another car, driven by Kristin L. Green, 31, of Summit Township, which also was stopped at the traffic light.

Ruthann Green, 65, of Summit Township, a passenger in Green’s car, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

11:19 a.m. Sunday — Laurel Ann Fredley, 19, was arrested on a pair of criminal charges following a domestic dispute at her home on Wallula Avenue.

Police went to Fredley’s home after receiving a report of a woman screaming for help. Officers found the woman, who admitted yelling out the window because the defendant, her girlfriend, would not let her out of the bedroom, according to court documents.

The alleged victim told police Fredley also grabbed her by the neck and tried to hold her down.

Fredley was arraigned on charges of simple assault and false imprisonment, and she was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.

6:29 p.m. Sunday — Slick roads were blamed for Cody T. Tritch, 19, of Butler losing control of his car and hitting a utility pole at Center and East Boyd avenues. A police report noted that the roads were “extremely slippery” due to snow.

Sunday — Police charged Bradley S. Cramer, 26, of Butler with damaging a vehicle during a Feb. 18 altercation outside his home in the 400 block of Second Street.

Cramer became angry with the occupants in the vehicle and jumped onto the car. He allegedly dented the side of it and dislodged the passenger side window. The car had $1,263 in damage, court documents said.

Cramer is charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Monday — A Butler man wanted on a warrant dug himself a bigger hole after allegedly stealing a snow shovel from a home on the 200 block of Federal Street.

A patrol officer caught Larry J. Hoffman Jr., 35, of Butler carrying the stolen shovel at West Penn and North Chestnut streets. He is charged with theft.

The officer also took Hoffman into custody on the warrant out of Westmoreland County.

Butler Twp. Police

7:11 p.m. Feb. 14 — A car driven by Kattie Ann Hutson, 20, of Butler crashed on Old Plank Road. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions and driving without insurance.

Grove City Police

Monday — A woman reported the theft of a gold necklace, gold ring and three pairs of gold earrings from her home in the 200 block of North Broad Street. She told police she believed the items were taken when she was away from Jan. 7 to March 2.

2:17 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Abayomi Osoko, 47, and Louis Garzarelli, 35, both of Grove City, collided at College and Kinder avenues. Osoko was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.

State Police, Butler

3:05 p.m. Tuesday — A 40-year-old Slippery Rock man used funny money to pocket $50 at the Trader Horn store on Route 422 in Franklin Township.

The suspect, who police did not identify, gave a cashier what appeared at first glance to be a $50 bill, in exchange for two $20 bills and a $10 bill. The man left with the genuine currency and the store later determined that the $50 bill was counterfeit.

Police said their investigation into the case of theft by deception continues.

1:14 a.m. Monday — A 41-year-old Petrolia man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a rollover crash on Petrolia Road in Fairview Township.

State Police, Clarion

Monday — Police reported they are investigating a case of identity theft last month that targeted a 59-year-old Emlenton woman. The suspect between Feb. 1 and 15 used the woman’s personal information to open credit card accounts in the name.

State Police, Franklin

6 a.m. Monday — A car driven by a Florida man crashed and rolled onto it side on Interstate 80 in Barkeyville. Police cited the driver, Wilfredo J. Santiago, 30, of Orlando, with disregarding traffic lanes and a seat belt violation.

According to the police report, a 2-year-old Cleveland boy, who was riding in the car, was not properly secured. The boy was not hurt.

State Police, Kittanning

6:21 a.m. Monday — A pickup truck and car collided on Route 28 about three miles north of exit 18 in North Buffalo Township. Police did not immediately identify the drivers.

The driver of the pickup lost control of the vehicle while crossing a bridge and slid sideways, hitting the bridge head-on. The driver of the car swerved to avoid the truck but hit it on the back driver’s side.

6:14 p.m. Monday — Larry T. McCausland, 24, of Yatesboro was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police were called to the Franklin Village Mall in East Franklin Township for a report of two men taking photographs and videotaping a female employee at the McDonald’s restaurant drive-through.

Troopers found McCausland, who was caught with suspected marijuana, and Rhett A. Atwood, 26, of Kittanning, who had suspected drug paraphernalia.

5:27 p.m. Monday — Andrea A. Collier, 60, of Templeton was hurt when the car she was driving hit an ice patch and rolled over an embankment on River Road in Rayburn Township. Collier, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with minor injuries.

10:28 a.m. Sunday — L. Bisping, 30, of Ford City was hurt when she lost control of her car and struck a guardrail on Route 66 in Bethel Township. Police said Bisping, who was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries, fled.

Police said she is charged with failing to immediately notify police of an accident, disregarding traffic lanes, driving too fast for conditions and driving without valid inspection.

Sunday — A thief stole a television projector and an electronic tablet from a Ford City woman’s vehicle at the Burrell Township Volunteer Fire Department in Burrell Township. The suspect broke the passenger side window to get into the vehicle between 3 and 7:30 p.m.

Thursday — Police filed drug charges against James R. Dodson, 31, of Kittanning after they caught him Feb. 12 with heroin and other contraband at Asbury Graphite Mills Inc. in North Buffalo Township where he was working at the time.

Dodson is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

1:21 a.m. Feb. 24 — Deanna Wisnick, 44, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 in Plumcreek Township.
