My wife and I were in the kitchen having lunch when we heard a funny noise coming from the living room. We checked it out, and saw fire coming from the top of a lamp with sparks dropping. We quickly pulled the plug and moved the lamp away from the sofa.

The bulb was one of the new ones we're being forced to use now. We're thankful we were home when this happened because it was the lamp we usually leave on when we go away.

Every day we turn on the news or pick up the newspaper, there are fires. We wonder if maybe those fires that are unexplained could possibly be the result of the new bulbs. We had a few of the older bulbs left and put them in, and we haven't had any other problems. We wish we had more because it really scared us thinking what would happened had we been away.
