BUTLER TWP — An Aldi grocery store will replace the former Bottom Dollar Food store in the Bon Aire Plaza on Route 8.

Aldi on Friday completed its purchase of 66 properties from the Delhaize Group, which included that company’s closed Bottom Dollar Food franchise.

Aldi said in a release that it will reopen 30 of those stores under its own brand, including the location at 196 Bon Aire Plaza. A date of when the store will open was not available.

The former Bottom Dollar Food at 750 Butler Crossing on New Castle Road will not reopen. Aldi already has a store in that shopping development on New Castle Road.

The company said stores that will not be converted will be evaluated for sale or sublease.

Aldi operates nearly 1,400 stores in 32 states.
