Butler Police4:45 a.m. Sunday — Alcohol and speed were factors in a one-vehicle crash on South Main Street. The driver, Aaron M. Kradel, 21, of Connoquenessing Township, was three times the legal limit for alcohol when his pickup truck twice hit the side of the General Butler Bridge.Police said Kradel was southbound when his pickup struck the side of the bridge. The truck spun around and hit the side of the bridge a second time.Kradel, who smelled of alcohol, admitted he had “a few beers” before the wreck, according to a police report. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.24 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.He is charged with driving under the influence and driving too fast for conditions.10:36 p.m. Saturday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Jianrong Chen, 32, of Butler Township and Kayla N. Dietz, 19, of Sarver collided at South Main and Wayne streets.5:56 p.m. Wednesday — Kahle Ty McCauley, 20, was arrested but not before clashing with officers called for a domestic dispute at his home in the 500 block of West New Castle Street.The suspect, who earlier had been arguing with his girlfriend, started cursing and yelling at officers after they got to his home, according to court documents. He became louder and louder and then tried to leave. He eventually pushed one of the officers standing in front of the door.Police said they had to forcibly arrest McCauley, who was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of law enforcement and disorderly conduct. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.Butler Twp Police7:28 p.m. Wednesday — Jeffrey W. Nadiak, 26, of Lyndora was arrested after allegedly shoplifting a Dyson vacuum cleaner, valued at $700, from the Kohl's store at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza.Nadiak, who has two prior convictions for shoplifting, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.State Police, Butler8:20 p.m. Sunday — Michelle Bowers, 46, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her pickup truck crashed in Clay Township.Police said Bowers lost control of the 2014 Dodge Ram on Route 308 about one-half mile north of West Sunbury. She told police she swerved to avoid a deer.The southbound truck went off the west side of the road before returning onto the road and rolling on its passenger side. The pickup slid south on Route 308, stopping when its front end hit a tree. Bowers, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Police said the truck's air bags deployed.The West Sunbury Fire Department and Butler Ambulance service assisted at the scene.2:10 p.m. Sunday — A minivan driven by Ryan N. Wilcox, 36, of Butler rear-ended a car stopped at a red light on Route 8 at Glenwood Way in Center Township. Police said Wilcox was cited for careless driving. Karen L. Webb, 54, of Butler was driving the car.9:52 p.m. Saturday — An 18-year-old Butler man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 8 and Staff Road in Brady Township.7 p.m. Saturday — A Butler man wanted on a felony drug warrant was arrested after a traffic stop at Routes 422 and 528 in Franklin Township.The suspect, Vincent M. Yandura, 30, who was found with drug contraband and faces a new charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, was placed in the Butler County Prison on the arrest warrant.State police obtained the warrant in January stemming from a controlled drug buy, according to court documents, during which Yandura allegedly sold 10 stamp bags of heroin to a police informant for $130 on North Monroe Street in Butler.Yandura, in that drug case, is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.Saturday — A burgundy-colored, 1997 Infiniti was stolen between 2 and 3 p.m. from J & S Auto Sales on Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township. The car is described as a four-door model with a rear spoiler. It has primer around the wheel wells and front fender damage.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Saturday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of a night-vision rifle scope, valued at $5,100, that was stolen from a truck in the 3000 block of Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. The ATW Aries MK-8900 Crusader Vision Scope was taken sometime in 2010.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police.12:05 a.m. Friday — Three unknown males attacked a 26-year-old man during a home invasion in Oakland Township. The suspects forced their way into the alleged victim's home in the 200 block of Baumgart Road and assaulted him before taking several unspecified items.An initial police report did not indicate if the victim was injured. Police said their investigation continues.Thursday — Police filed two counts of harassment against Brannon J. Irvin, 27, of Slippery Rock stemming from a rock-throwing incident March 15 on Corry Road in Worth Township. Irvin is accused of throwing rocks at 46-year-old Timothy Minehart and Minehart's dog.Tuesday — An identity thief used a 22-year-old Center Township man's credit card number to make nearly $800 in fraudulent purchases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey on March 23 and Tuesday.State Police, Kittanning2:24 a.m. Sunday — A 25-year-old Worthington woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 in Man Township.7:30 p.m. Saturday — An Apple iPhone was found in the King's restaurant parking lot in East Franklin Township. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-543-2011. Police noted that if the owner does not claim the cell phone within 90 days it will be destroyed.6:47 p.m. Friday — Jacob C. Bell, 20, of Shelocta allegedly caused a disturbance in the emergency room at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township.Bell is accused of using profanity while arguing with hospital staff, punching a wall and trying to fight with a family member of another patient. He faces a charge of disorderly conduct.State Police, New Castle10:30 p.m. March 17 — One person was hurt when a pickup truck struck a drainage ditch, an embankment, utility pole and eight fence posts on the side of Princeton Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.William D. Morrison, 22, of New Castle told police that he lost control of the pickup after swerving to avoid a deer on the road. Morrison, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said he was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
