Pickup truck collides with school bus, sending 4 to hospital

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — Four elementary school students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a pickup truck collided with their bus in central Pennsylvania.

Police say the bus driver and 22 other Lampeter-Strasburg School District students were not hurt in the crash around 4 p.m. Monday in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County.

Police say the 72-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup took his foot off the brake when something spilled in the vehicle, allowing it to drift in the path of the school bus.

The man wasn't hurt.

Police described the crash as an accident. They said there was no evidence of alcohol being involved or of the man having a medical issue.

Students on the bus were from Lampeter Elementary School and Hans Herr Elementary.
