Program features Kennywood

SARVER — “Kennywood — A Century of Change” will be sponsored by the Herbal Thymes Club at 7 p.m., Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Heide Hall, 409 Sarver Road (Route 228).

William Henniger will share stories about the history of rides, architecture, gardens and attractions at Kennywood.

Tickets will be sold at the door.

Preschool Place enrolling for fall

MIDDLESEX TWP — The Preschool Place at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, is accepting registrations for fall 2015 classes.

The preschool provides classes in a Christian environment for children as young as 2½.

A new class, designed for 3-year-olds who miss the traditional cutoff date, will be offered for the first time.

Preschool taking fall applications

EVANS CITY — Westminster Church Preschool, 330 E. Main St. is accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year for children ages 3 to 5.

The program for 3-year-olds includes independent play, group play, story time, dramatic play and fine motor skill activities. These experiences help children succeed in a school setting.

The program for 4- and 5-year-olds includes academic concepts and social skills necessary to succeed in kindergarten.

Safe driving courses offered

Seniors for Safe Driving will host the following classes for those age 55 and older:

Noon to 3:30 p.m. May 5 and May 6, Butler Senior Center, 10 Austin Ave., Lyndora

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11, Passavant Retirement Community

5:30 to 9 p.m., May 11 and May 12, Grove City Alliance Church

8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 15, Butler Memorial Hospital

5:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 19, Kelly Chevrolet, Butler

8 a.m. to noon, May 20, Troy Alan Chevrolet, Slippery Rock.

Seniors completing the course will receive a 5 percent reduction in their automobile insurance premiums for three years.

WIC schedules no-appointment day

Butler County WIC, 323 Sunset Drive, Suite 1, will host a walk-in, no-appointment-necessary day with Mickey Mouse from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 8.

Participants can walk in for initial and recertification visits or a check pickup.
