Hawks’ Budenholzer NBA Coach of Year

ATLANTA — Mike Budenholzer of the Atlanta Hawks has been chosen as NBA coach of the year.

The second-year coach was honored Tuesday after leading the Hawks to a 60-22 record — the best in franchise history — and top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Bayless officiating boxing’s richest fight

LAS VEGAS — Veteran referee Kenny Bayless will be the third man in the ring when Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao meet in boxing’s richest fight ever.

Nevada boxing commissioners picked Bayless on Tuesday to referee the May 2 fight. They also appointed Dave Moretti, Glenn Feldman and Burt Clements as judges.

Bayless will be paid $25,000.
