Pentony Capital moves to PortersvillePORTERSVILLE — Pentony Capital Management is moving.As of Monday, it will be at 1284 Perry Highway in Portersville. For the past five years it had been in Saxonburg.Howie Pentony, president of the firm, said the Portersville location has immediate access to Interstate 79 and Route 422. Free dental care offered May 2BUTLER TWP — The second annual Dentistry From the Heart event will be May 2 at Keelan Dental, 1022 N. Main Street Ext., Suite 203, Avada Building.Dentistry From The Heart started in 2001 as a way to provide aid to those without dental insurance. It has grown to include more than 200 annual events nationwide and around the world.Keelan Dental will provide free fillings, extractions, or cleanings to the first 100 people in need.Last year Keelan Dental treated more than 75 people with a total of $22,000 in free dentistry.< B>BHS gets regional safety awardBUTLER TWP — The Butler Health System has been recognized with a Gold Level 2014 VHA Mid-Atlantic APEX Award.This Achieving Patient Care Excellence honors hospitals that demonstrate extraordinary levels of patient safety and clinical quality. The health system has been recognized for excellence by VHA for five of the past seven years.The health system was one of only two health systems recognized at the Gold level in the Mid-Atlantic region which includes hospitals in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.The health system was cited for excellence in decreasing blood stream infections, decreasing inpatient ventilator associated pneumonia to zero in critical care units and decreasing inpatient Venous Thromboembolism.“We are honored to be recognized by VHA for our continued dedication to improving patient safety and the quality of care for our patients,” said Ken DeFurio, healthy system president and CEO.“We are thankful for the dedication of our excellent medical staff and employees who have made this award possible, but more importantly for the care they provide our patients every day.”

Company honors worker’s serviceGIBSONIA — Consolidated Communications recognized Diane Harrington of Valencia, engineering clerk in Gibsonia, with the company’s Community Service Award.It is presented annually to employees who are making a difference in the communities CCI serves.Harrington volunteers with Make-A-Wish, Sisters of Divine Providence and the Life Teen program at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Butler.Consolidated also made a $300 donation to Life Teen on Harrington’s behalf.

ACMH emergency care honoredEAST FRANKLIN TWP, Armstrong County — ACMH Hospital received a Women’s Choice Award (WCA) recognizing America’s Best Hospitals for Emergency Care.This places ACMH in the top 9 percent for emergency care, which was achieved by 373 hospitals nationally.Sharyn Lee, president of the WCA Healthcare Division, said, “Awarded Emergency Services Departments must achieve high rankings on eight emergency measures including patient recommendation scores ...”The eight measures CMS publicly reports relate primarily to the amount of time taken in the ER for diagnosis, medication, and admission to the hospital, and are weighted according to the priorities of women surveyed.

Penn Christian hires curriculum directorPENN TWP — Penn Christian Academy promoted Angela Gillis to be director of curriculum and instruction.She has taught third grade at Penn Christian Academy the past five years.She is also the founder and sponsor of PCA’s Math Team which offers math enrichment for students in grades 3-6.Gillis earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown as well as a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College in Georgia.She previously taught third and fourth grade in public schools and served as the children’s ministry director at Valencia Presbyterian Church.
