Butler tennis nets 5-0 sweep

Butler’s Devin Fitz, Henry May and Matt McMaster each won his singles match with ease as the Golden Tornado swept North Hills 5-0 in boys tennis play Monday.

The doubles teams of Cam Sedwick/Troy Bell and Tony Santilo/Nate Errington also won for Butler.

Girls Lacrosse

Mikayla Spreng scored four times to lead Knoch to a 12-11 win over Yough.

Ally Riley and Taylor Carr both contributed three goals and Elizabeth Butler two scores.

Hannah Oblich had one assist while Isabella Durci made two of her nine saves in the closing minutes to preserve the win.

Pine-Richland 14, Mars 10 — Shannon Doyle and Eden Fletcher each scored three goals in the Planets’ loss.

Cassianna Buzzelli added two goals and Margaret Manjerovic and Kelly O’Connell also found the net for Mars.

Baseball

Seneca Valley edged North Hills, 5-3, to improve to 9-4 overall and 7-1 in the section.

Moon 3, Butler 2 — The Golden Tornado were edged in this section clash to fall to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the section.

Karns City 4, Redbank Valley 3 — Tyler Dunn sparked this win for the Gremlins (5-2) with a pair of singles, two runs scored and two batted in.
