BUTLER TWP — Police have identified the driver of a motorcycle who was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a crash on McCalmont Road.

Christopher Gamble, 19, of Butler suffered a “major injury to the inside of his left knee” in the wreck, according to a Butler Township police report.

A medical helicopter flew the teenager to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries after the accident shortly before 3:30 p.m. Authorities said he was wearing a helmet, according to a 911 call.

His condition was not known this morning.

Police said Gamble was traveling west on McCalmont Road just west of the railroad tracks when he lost control of the cycle on gravel and crashed.

Butler Township Fire District 3 and Butler Ambulance Service assisted police.
