Quilt in a Day founder Eleanor Burns and her sister Patricia Knoechel, both Zelienople natives, will present a program to raise funds for the Harmony Museum on Tuesday and for the Zelienople Historical Society on Wednesday. The annual Harmony Museum event from 10 a.m. to noon in Stewart Hall, 218 Mercer St., Harmony, is nearly sold out. The next day’s program in Zelienople begins at 6 p.m. in St. Peter’s Reformed Church., 320 E. Grandview Ave. Admission is $7, and paid reservations are recommended. The Old Stone House will again offer “Foodways Programs,” a series of summer-fall cooking classes. The classes run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with participants receiving hands-on training. Bake oven classes are available June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19. Open hearth cooking classes will be July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12 and Oct. 10. Fort Pitt Museum in Point State Park on Friday opens the exhibit “Captured by Indians.” The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 700 Frank Curto Drive, hosts Discovery Garden Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The summer flower show continues through Oct. 5. The Butterfly Forest is open through Sept. 7. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and until 10 p.m. Fridays. Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., presents the “We Can Do It!” exhibit bringing the 1940s to life. Continuing is the largest display of original items from the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” TV show. Center admission is $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens, and $6 for students. Children’s Museum, Allegheny Square, features “Rainbow Jumpy,” a 30-foot inflatable rainbow-striped tunnel, through Sunday.
