Monday — Amanda Lynn Cypher, 30, of Butler Township was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with a traffic stop about 10:30 p.m. May 15 at South Chestnut and West Birch streets.Police initially stopped Cypher after a check found she did not have insurance on her car. According to court documents, police eventually searched her purse and found three syringes, 50 empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a burned spoon.A search of the car's trunk turned up 90 additional syringes, documents said.Along with the misdemeanor drug charge, Cypher was cited for driving without insurance.11:08 a.m. Sunday — Dozens of stamp bags of suspected heroin were found at a home in the 500 block of East Pearl Street where police were called for a reported overdose.David T. Duncan, 23, who lives at the home, was later charged with misdemeanor drug possession.Officers found medics treating Duncan in a bedroom when they got there. On a dresser next to the bed, according to court documents, police noticed a sandwich bag containing 43 bags of suspected heroin, a syringe and six empty bags of heroin.He admitted he shot up the six empty bags and also acknowledged the other bags were his, too, police said.Duncan is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

1:16 p.m. Monday — Jaime L. Mahood, 33, and Jessica Lee Winkleman, 30, both of Butler, were arrested after being caught with suspected marijuana at Alameda Park. Police said they were called to the park after someone complained about the smell of burning marijuana.Mahood and Winkleman are both charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

3:10 a.m. Wednesday — A tractor-trailer driven by Joseph Paternostro, 50, of North Collins, N.Y., crashed into a ditch after traveling over a median on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. The wreck ruptured the rig's fuel tank.Paternostro was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Wednesday — Police arrested one of three young Butler men accused of stealing property from one vehicle and vandalizing another vehicle belonging to a Center Township junkyard earlier this month.The trio is suspected of swiping the Pioneer compact disc player that was in a car. They also allegedly broke several windows and the headlights of a truck. Damage to the truck was estimated at $520.Video surveillance, according to a police report, helped identify the suspects — Matthew J. Walker, 21; Stephen Schweiger Jr., 22; and Shawn Wiles, 19.Police on May 15 charged each defendant with theft by unlawful taking, theft from a vehicle, receiving stolen property criminal mischief, trespass and loitering and prowling at night.Walker was arrested and arraigned on charges, and later placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail. Arraignments are pending for Schweiger and Wiles.May 14 — An unknown burglar stole several hand tools from a detached garage in a break-in between May 5 and 14 at a home on Chestnut Drive in Center Township. The tools included the brand names Snap-on, Dewalt and Ryobi.“The dollar amount (of the theft) was substantial,” according to a police report, “due to the numerous accessories that were taken with the tools.”Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.May 3 — An aluminum row boat was stolen from a home on Circle Drive in Brady Township. The theft happened between Oct. 1 and May 3.
