These items have been collected from various police departments.

Butler Police

Monday — Cara M. Lutz, 33, of West Sunbury was charged with felony shoplifting after she was caught June 8 allegedly taking an $8 tank top at the Dollar General store on North Main Street. Police said they found the merchandise in her purse.

Officers also found a stamp bag of suspected heroin and two pieces of a Suboxone strip in her purse.

Lutz, who has two prior shoplifting arrests, is charged with a felony count of retail theft. She also is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Monday — Police charged Christopher R. Hartmann Sr., 39, of Butler with a felony count of retail theft stemming from a June 18 shoplifting incident at the A-Plus convenience store on West Jefferson Street.

Hartmann is accused of taking a container of chocolate milk and a peanut butter bar worth a combined $2.64. He is charged with felony shoplifting, according to court documents, because he has two prior convictions for retail theft.

12:51 a.m. Friday — Clifford J. Anderson, 36, of Pittsburgh allegedly broke into a couple’s home in the 300 block of Zeigler Avenue and assaulted a man there.

The alleged victims, Nathan S. Zimjowski and Jessica M. McCloskey, told police that Anderson entered their home uninvited and attacked Zimjowski.

Anderson later drove away in a blue sport utility vehicle. Police then got an arrest warrant for Anderson on charges of burglary and simple assault.

Butler Twp Police

9:51 p.m. Sunday — George T. Seman, 49, of Renfrew was arrested for drunken driving on Meridian Road. Seman is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and 12 counts of disregarding traffic lanes.

12:22 p.m. Sunday — A teenager was hurt in a four-vehicle wreck at Evans City and South Eberhart roads.

The crash happened when a car driven by Clyde L. Hilliard, 88, of Butler rear-ended a sport utility vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light on Evans City Road. Lynette Heller, 44, of Connoquenessing was driving the SUV.

After the rear-end collision, Hilliard’s car went over the curb, hitting and shearing off a fire hydrant before glancing off the traffic light support pole. The car continued into another SUV driven by Thomas Angello, 44, of Butler, which was stopped on South Eberhart Road at the traffic light.

The damaged fire hydrant hit a car driven by William Roxberry, 56, of Butler, which also was stopped on South Eberhart Road at the traffic light.

A 16-year-old who was riding in Heller’s vehicle was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police did not identify the youth.

Hilliard was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

3:30 a.m. Sunday — Charles E. Portis, 58, of Butler dropped his cell phone while driving on Route 8 north and traveled over an embankment into the parking lot of Rachel’s Roadhouse, hitting an electrical box outside the restaurant.

Police cited Portis for driving at an unsafe speed.

1:58 p.m. Friday — Shannon Morgan, 30, of Connoquenessing allegedly shoplifted 35 items, totaling $148.61, at the Butler Commons Walmart. Morgan is charged with retail theft.

State Police, Butler

Friday — Police charged Zane S. Perry, 24, of Center Township with breaking into a neighbor’s home in the 200 block of Summit Road earlier this year and stealing a 14-carat gold ring valued at $750.

Perry is accused of selling the ring in May at a Butler Township gold store. The defendant, according to court documents, admitted he broke into the home when the owner was away.

Perry is charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.
