Butler Twp. Police

8:32 a.m. Monday — Katherine J. Pierce, 20, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana after police found her passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle on Delwood Road. Pierce is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and public drunkenness.

2:29 p.m. June 18 — Roberta Knepper, 34, of Hilliards was arrested after she was found allegedly high on drugs at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. Police said they also found her with drugs.

She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

Mars Police

4:42 p.m. Wednesday — Shawn A. Green, 35, of Adams Township was arrested on charges he broke into a home on Crowe Avenue in Mars and stole a Sony PlayStation and about 40 Blu-ray DVDs.

Green allegedly forced in a door at the house, according to court documents. A neighbor allegedly saw him at the home and notified authorities. The suspect was gone when officers got there.

Police said they inspected the house and found the back door bent and the door frame broken.

A short time later, police stopped Green riding in a sport utility vehicle. Officers made the traffic stop on Beaver Street Extension. Green denied breaking into the house or stealing anything.

District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Green on charges of burglary, theft and trespass. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.

Butler County Detectives

Friday — Detectives charged a Fayette County man with being an out-of-state fugitive from justice. Hite, according to court documents, is wanted in Delaware on an arrest warrant for burglary of the third degree in Sussex County.

Delaware authorities last week notified detectives here that they plan to extradite Hite, who has been in the Butler County Prison since Jackson Township police arrested him June 9 on felony retail theft charges stemming from a May shoplifting case.

State Police, Butler

June 17 — Police charged Jacob R. Trinkley, 18, of Slippery Rock with entering a Mercer Township home through an unlocked window between June 6 and 10 without the permission of the resident, a 58-year-old woman.

Once inside the house on Boyers Road, Trinkley allegedly took a photo of himself and the resident’s daughter, and attached the photo to a love note that he left on the front porch, according to a police report.

Trinkley is charged with trespass a felony, and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

State Police, Kittanning

Tuesday — Police filed misdemeanor drug charges against Carol Ann Contrael, 36, of Kittanning stemming from a traffic stop about 12:30 p.m. June 1 on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township.

Contrael is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and not wearing a seat belt.

Saturday — An unknown vandal smashed numerous mailboxes at homes on Mahoning Road in Madison Township. The vandalism happened between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday.

State Police, Mercer

Wednesday — An unknown thief cut off and stole the mane and a small portion of the tail of a miniature horse at a home on Veterans Road in Springfield Township. The theft happened overnight Tuesday or Wednesday.
