Gerald S. "Jerry" Hogan, 74, of Butler died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 25, 1933, in Harmony, he was the son of Robert Stewart and Anna Leota Carmichael Hogan.

Mr. Hogan had been a member of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, Evans City, where he had served as a lector. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.

He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier at the Butler Post Office.

Surviving are two sons, Eric W. Hogan and his wife, Janice, of Renfrew and Scott A. Hogan of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Kristen M. Pavic and her husband, DJ, of Raleigh; a sister, Yvonne Beight of Zelienople; his longtime companion, Edith Ruth Sherman of Butler; and seven grandchildren, Jarred and Devon Brown, Tori, Patrick, Leah and Stephanie Hogan and Jonathon Climo.

<B>HOGAN</B> — Friends of Gerald S. "Jerry" Hogan, who died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
