Johnston, Hancher
Sarah Johnston of Renfrew and Derek Hancher of Zelienople were united in marriage July 25 at First United Methodist Church in Butler. The Rev. J. David Panther officiated. A reception followed at the Butler Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of Tim and Susie Johnston of Renfrew. Parents of the bridegroom are George and Darla Hancher of Harmony.
The honor attendant was Molly Johnston of Butler. Bridesmaids included Beth Cammarata of Philadelphia, Megan McClean of Washington, D.C., Jennifer Rathfon of Pittsburgh, Courtney Holland of Pittsburgh and Megan Holland of Pittsburgh.
Performing the duties of best man was Brett Hancher of Harmony. Ushers included Justin DeArmit of Slippery Rock, Nathan Verba of Industry, Arthur Covell of Harmony, Matthew McClain of Cranberry Township and James Reeder of Butler.
The bride graduated in 2001 from Butler High School, in 2005 from Allegheny College and in 2008 from the Duquesne University School of Law. She is employed as an attorney at Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney in Pittsburgh.
The bridegroom graduated in 2001 from Seneca Valley High School, in 2005 from Allegheny College and in 2007 from Slippery Rock University. He is employed as a third grade teacher in the Shenango Area School District in New Castle.
Following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple is making their home in Zelienople.
