Phyllis Babicz
Phyllis Wolfrom Babicz of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Butler, died Tuesday.
Born July 16, 1938, in Grove City, she was the daughter of William A. and Beverly Jane Wolfrom. The family later moved to Butler.
Phyllis graduated from Butler High School in 1956, after which she worked at Mellon Bank for a number of years. She also worked for Heckett Engineering, and the Associates Loan Co.
In 1963, she married Edward Babicz, and they owned Rock Ann Haven and a grocery store in Prospect. They retired in 1977 and moved to St. Cloud, Fla., where they lived for the rest of their lives.
She enjoyed music, crafts, bingo and reading.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward John Babicz; her parents, William and Beverly Wolfrom Oesterling; and a brother, Frank A. Wolfrom.
Surviving are three daughters, Sheryl Alberter and her husband, Robert, of Saegertown, Pa., Lexie Williams and her companion, John Cox, of St. Cloud, Fla., and Lori Vacanti and her husband, David, also of St. Cloud; two brothers, Rick Wolfrom and his wife, Louann, of Kissimmee, Fla., and Jim Wolfrom and his wife, Kim, of Olean, N.Y.; two sisters, Billie Orth and Dianne Lokhaiser and her husband, James, both of Butler; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Wogaman of South Carolina.
She also is also survived by seven grandchildren, Erica Joliett, Shannon Ekis, Courtney Bailey and Chelsey Corban of Meadville and Justin Carter and Kenneth (BJ) Carter and Tanner Williams of St. Cloud, Fla.; and three step-grandchildren, Jonathon, Justin and Joshua Cox. She also has six great-grandchildren. Harry E. Teare, "Uncle Gene," her mentor, of Grove City also survives.
