Joseph Ronald 'Ron' Rayburg

Joseph Ronald "Ron" Rayburg, 78, a 46-year resident of Summit Street, Grove City, died early Monday at his home after an extended illness.

Born in Bradys Bend, June 15, 1932, he was the son of Henry Joseph Rayburg and Catherine Klabon Rayburg.

He married Doris A Brown on Sept. 8, 1956.

Mr. Rayburg retired from Grove City in 1995, where he was the borough code enforcement officer and was employed with the borough for 35 years.

He was a Roman Catholic.

Ron was raised in Boyers and graduated from Grove City High School in 1950.

He served in Germany with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.

He was a member of the VFW Post 519 and the American Legion Post 220, both Grove City, the American Legion 40/8, and the Elks Lodge of Greenville, and he was a life member of the A.B.A.T.E. Motorcycle Club.

Surviving are his wife, Doris at home; a son, Paul M. Rayburg of Mercer; a grandson, Michael H. Rayburg of Mercer; and two sisters, Barb Kristufek and her husband, John, of Harrisville and Kathy Wallace and her husband, Jim, of West Sunbury.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Rayburg, and one brother, Paul Rayburg.

<B>RAYBURG</B> — Funeral services for Joseph Ronald "Ron" Rayburg, who died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, will be at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Mark Hoffman of the Church of the Beloved Disciple officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 6 till 9 p.m.Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
