Irene L. Sober, 86, of Butler Township, formerly of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler Township.

Irene was born April 12, 1929, in Freeport. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Pyszczynski) and George Burkett. Irene was the widow of Robert S. Sober, who passed away in 1999.

She worked for 33 years in the dietary department at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.

Irene loved playing bingo and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie (Jeffrey) Sims of Buffalo Township and Barbara (William) Bono of Penn Township; her four grandchildren, Jason Sarver of Bridgeville, Timothy (Kelly) Robison of Raeford, N.C., Kasey (Timothy) Semuskie of Latrobe and Angela Sims of Springdale; and five great-grandchildren, Lucas Morrison, Jason and Caden Skrabut, Cora Semuskie and Keira Robison.

She also is survived by her two sisters, Agnes (Richard) Ross of Buffalo Township and Flora (Eugene) Gibb of Edgewater, Fla.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Burkett.

SOBER — Family and friends of Irene L. Sober, who died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
