Donald L. Bullman Sr., 87, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024.

Born Feb. 8, 1937, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Bowser) Bullman.

Don was a 1955 graduate of Butler High School. He was employed at Thorofare Markets Inc., for 24 years. He was the manager of stores in Leechburg, Kittanning and Butler. After Thorofare went out of business, Don, along with his son Donald Jr., operated the Highway Markets at Jefferson and Mount Chestnut for 24 years. After spending a total of 48 years in the grocery business, he retired, leaving his son to take over the business. In his free time, he enjoyed walking and water sports.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia M. (Gallagher) Bullman, whom he married on Feb. 17, 1956; three children, Donald Bullman Jr., and his wife, Jackie, of East Brady, Cheryl Pataky and lifelong partner, Ed Notaro, of Butler, and Amy Bullman of Butler.

He is also survived by his sisters, Becky Tomei of Zelienople and Beverly Braun of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Shannon Pataky, Donald Bullman III, Jennifer Bullman and Nichole Wheeler; four great-grandchildren, Kaden and Colton Slupe, and Lexie and Noah Wheeler; and two great-great-grandchildren, Emery and Layla Eshenbaugh.

BULLMAN — At the family’s request, there will be no services for Donald L. Bullman Sr., who died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024.

Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
