Margaret Leota Davis Eppinger, 96, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by family.

Born on Feb. 27, 1928, in East Butler, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Margaret (Crispin) Davis.

Margaret was a homemaker and a former member of East Butler Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards and working word puzzles, and she was also a big Pirates fan.

Margaret is survived by her son, John (Sandi) Eppinger of Butler; two daughters, Mary (Ken) Green of West Sunbury and Bonnie (Sam) Zurzolo of Butler; a daughter-in-law, Stella Eppinger of Butler; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, two stepgrandsons; two stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Eppinger of Butler; a close friend of the family, Chuck Stivason of Butler; as well as a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Eppinger, whom she married on Nov. 20, 1944, and who passed away Sept. 9, 1997; four sons, David (Yvonne), Richard, Edward (Sandy) and Raymond Eppinger; seven brothers; one sister; one granddaughter; one grandson; one stepgranddaughter; and three infant great-grandchildren.

EPPINGER — All services for Margaret Leota Davis Eppinger, who died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, will be private.

Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

Arrangements are entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
