Raymond Ernst Kohler, 94, of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at home.

Born June 10, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Raymond Andrew Kohler and Charlotte Ernst Kohler.

Ray was a faithful member of English Lutheran Church in Zelienople. He was a lifelong member of the Zelienople Fire Department and a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge 429. He was also a past president of the Zelienople Sportsman’s Club.

Ray was an avid Steelers fan and outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, especially at the Orbisonia Deer Club. Ray also loved gardening. In their later years, Ray and his wife, Jean, enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. Above all, Ray loved spending time with his family.

Ray will be remembered as a loving husband, family man and a generous spirit to his community.

Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 73 years, Patricia “Jean” Eyles Kohler, whom he married on April 14, 1951; his children, Harvey (Peggy) Kohler of Zelienople, Patricia (Dave) Grubbs of Evans City, Carolyn (Mike) Huttinger of Zelienople and Rhoda Kohler of Greencastle; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Kohler; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ella Mae Smith of Evans City.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his son, Frank Edwin Kohler; and two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Alice (Joseph) Reitlinger, Ruth (Bob) Zoelle and Phil Smith.

KOHLER — Services for Raymond Ernst Kohler, who died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, will be held privately by his family. He will be laid to rest at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.

Memorial donations may be made in Ray’s honor to English Lutheran Church, 200 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063, or to the Orbisonia Deer Club, c/o Craig Kohler, 115 Arthur St., Zelienople, PA 16063.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
