A Westmoreland County man was arrested early Thursday, Dec. 12, after a crash in which his vehicle flipped on to its roof, police said.

Austin J. McCarrell, 20, of Lower Burrell lost control of his sport utility vehicle while driving around a curve on Sun Mine Road in Clinton Township around 12:37 a.m. and the vehicle traveled off the road, up an embankment and flipped onto its roof, police said.

McCarrell was found to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested, police said. He suffered a possible injury, but was not taken to a hospital.

The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road, became disabled and was towed.
