Carl J. McCall
Carl J. McCall, 83, of West Freedom, Parker, passed away Monday evening at Clarion Hospital following a brief illness.
Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Sligo, he was son of late Brainerd and Kathryn Kriebel McCall.
A machinist by occupation, he was employed by Penn-Drake, later Penreco, at Karns City for many years. In the early 1970s he began employment with Kopper's Chemical, now Indespec, at Petrolia, where he retired in 1996.
Carl was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1955 with the rank of sergeant. Serving in Germany, he was awarded the NDSM and the German Occupation Medal.
He was a member of the Charles A. Black American Legion Post 598 of Parker, where he served many retirement years participating in funeral services of deceased veterans.
He was a member of the West Freedom United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 18, 1956, he married the former Barbara Craig of Callensburg, and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage next month.
Surviving are five children, Lisa (Fred II) VanDenHeuvel of Export, Pa., Tracy (Brad) Astolos of Butler, Karla McCall of Parker, Carl Alan (Tricia) McCall of West Freedom and Roger (Rhonda) McCall of Keyser, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Kaye (Eugene) Hillis of Rimersburg; his brother, Ronald McCall of Butler; his sister-in-law, Helen McCall of Sligo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley B. McCall on Nov. 19, 2014, and his great-grandchild, Morgan Alycia Rowan.
MCCALL — Friends of Carl J. McCall, who died Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ken Hughes, a United Methodist minister, officiating.
