Nancy McNorton
Nancy Louise (Doran) McNorton, 86, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, after a brief illness, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by the love of her family.
Nancy was born on June 25, 1934. She was the daughter of Dorothy I. (Kenan) Doran and Donald A. Doran. She was married for 47 years to the late Donald W. McNorton.
Nancy’s heart was in her home and with family and friends, to whom she was loving, kind and thoughtful. Her door was always open, and, in her quiet way, she made everyone feel welcome. Nancy was a magnificent cook, and accommodating of “special” likes and dislikes to make sure all were well fed. Her desserts are legendary. She was generous with her time and wise counsel, and made sure you knew that she loved you more.
Nancy had a special place in her heart for the many family pets that shared her journey. She worked outside the home for much of her life, most recently at Manheim Pittsburgh. She will be greatly missed and always in our hearts.
She is survived by her children, Robert J. McNorton (Mary Geever) and Janice L. Cumberledge (Raymon); grandchildren, Rachel M. and Jess R. McNorton; sister, Audrey Allnock; sister-in-law, Marlin Vidt; and loving neighbors, Richard and Beverly Magill. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, family, friends and her faithful cat, Boo.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by three grandchildren and her brother, James M. Doran.
