Charles J. Blakeley
Charles J. Blakeley, 93, of Saxonburg died Sunday at West Penn Hospital.
Born Nov. 7, 1914, in West Winfield, he was a son of Charles F. and Bertha Mae Baxter Blakeley.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Blakeley had worked in the maintenance department at Du-Co Ceramics and retired in 1979.
He was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxonburg. He was a charter member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and was a former member of the Saxonburg American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Bachman Blakeley, whom he married June 25, 1937; a daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Sweesy of Saxonburg; his granddaughters, Tina Sweesy and Tracy Sweesy Ogrodnik; and four great-granddaughters, Monica, Julia, Elena and Emily.
Preceding him in death was a son, Donald.
<B>BLAKELEY</B> — Friends of Charles J. Blakeley, who died Sunday, May 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Keller officiating.
