Julia Zavacky, 85, of Renfrew died Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born Sept. 24, 1922, in Kimball, W. Va, she was a daughter of Stephen and Anna Barna Pavlisin.

She was a homemaker and mother and a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. She also was a member of the American Legion Post 778 Auxiliary, the G.C.U. of 7 Oaks, and the Ladies' Guild at her church.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Zavacky Jr., who she married July 24, 1949.

Mrs. Zavacky also is survived by her daughter Jeannette Zavacky of Oceanside, Calif.; one sister, Anne Cooper of Butler; one brother, Steve Pavlisin of Denver; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Charlene Vicario.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Pavlisin.

<B>ZAVACKY</B> — Friends of Julia Zavacky, who died Saturday, May 10, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERALHOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Parasta's services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora with Father Dennis Bogda, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
