Nancy Hawthorne

Nancy H. Hawthorne, 80, of Zelienople, passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, while under the care of Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh.

Born June 25, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Pells and Helen Smolnery Pells.

Nancy was a woman of strong faith, and was very devoted to the Blessed Mother.

She worked as a cashier at Target in Cranberry Township for 20 years, and at Hauhinco Trading LTD as an inventory specialist for 12 years. She also loved being a tour guide, traveling with bus tours across the country. Her favorite place to vacation was Disney World. Nancy also enjoyed casinos and shopping, and above all, Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Mallory.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 31 years, George Hawthorne, whom she married Jan. 13, 1990; her daughter, Lynn (Richard) Walmsley of Cranberry Township; her granddaughter, Mallory Walmsley; her sister, Rosemarie Drahusz of North Versailles; and her stepdaughters, Donna (Phil) Karavlan of Middlesex Township, and Barbara Zunkley and Brenda (Bill) Holland of Freedom.

HAWTHORNE — The family of Nancy H. Hawthorne, who died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Paul Cope officiating.

A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Phillip Farrell as celebrant.

She will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.
