Shirley Eiliene Fennell Hepting Edwards
Shirley Eiliene Fennell Hepting Edwards, 93, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Butler, died Friday in Leesburg.
She was born in 1924 in Butler, to Floyd Reiger Fennell and Ola Anthony Fennell. She graduated from Butler High School in 1942 and married Robert A. Hepting in 1943. Upon retirement, they moved to the Leesburg area. After Robert's death, Shirley married Warren L. Edwards, also from the Leesburg area, in 1991, but was widowed again in 1999.
Shirley enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and going to plays and musicals. Until a few weeks before her death, she was still driving, doing her own shopping and volunteering at a thrift shop.
Shirley is survived by her children David A. Hepting, Donald L. Hepting and Beth Hepting, all of Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and three siblings F. Leighton Fennell, Beryl Rectanus and Phyllis Stutz Heaton, all of Pennsylvania.
Two siblings and one grandson predeceased Shirley.
