Dolores A. “Dolly” Spowal
Dolores A. “Dolly” Spowal, 89, of Zelienople passed away Monday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born Dec. 20, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kiselka and Myrtle Brittner Kiselka.
Dolly was a 50-year member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople and a former member of Christian Mothers at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church in Evans City. She was also a member of AARP in Mars. Dolly will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Karen McKitrick and her husband, the late Dr. John, of Carmel, N.Y., and Janice D. Spowal of Zelienople; her son, Kenneth A. Spowal and his wife, Bettie, of Morrow, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ryan, Cory and Karina; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Lorraine Hoza Long and her husband, the late John, of Freedom; and her dear friends Jack Schessler and his wife, the late Margaret, of Evans City.
In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Jacob “Jake” Spowal, whom she married May 3, 1947, and who died Nov. 28, 2015; her brother, Clifford Kiselka; and her twin children, Joseph and Joyce.
SPOWAL — The family of Dolores A. “Dolly” Spowal, who died Monday, July 31, 2017, will welcome friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W.
