Mars Area School District’s elementary schools will promote individual fundraisers to benefit the American Heart Association throughout February.

Mars Area Elementary School’s fundraiser will go on until Feb. 14, and donations can be made online or through the “Kids Heart Challenge” app.

Mars Area Centennial School will host its fundraiser from Feb. 1 to March 10. Donations can be made online or through the “American Heart Challenge” app.

The Mars Area Primary Center’s fundraiser will also run from Feb. 1 to March 10, and donations can be made online or via the “Kids Heart Challenge” app.

The schools will also be hosting events and activities to promote education on heart health. Donations will also be collected by the students.

The school district will additionally host “theme days” for students throughout the fundraiser.

On Feb. 10, students will be invited to wear crazy socks. The following Friday, Feb. 17, the school has asked students to wear a fun hat or crazy hair. Students can wear red to participate in “Wear RED for Heart Health” on Feb. 24. And finally, students are asked to wear exercise clothes on March 3 for “Jog Your Mind & Exercise Your Heart” Day.
