Regis Majcher

Majcher

Regis A. Majcher, 72, of Valencia, formerly of Mars and Gibsonia and North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, May 11, 2023.

Born and raised in Hazelwood, he was the third son of the late Ladislaus and Monica Zmuda Majcher. His late Uncle, Lou Zmuda helped raise him and loved him as a son.

Regis attended Point Park University and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.

His career was quality assurance engineer for Westinghouse Nuclear Energy and EMD. He truly enjoyed his work and co-workers there. He traveled extensively for his job and enjoyed every part of it.

He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills.

Regg was always looking for the perfect sunny beach and his search brought him to many places near and far, while meeting many wonderful people along the way. He was quick to smile and start a conversation, which often turned into a personal connection. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special. His good humor and unfailing kindness will be missed.

Regg enjoyed fishing with his brothers and his buddies. They didn’t always catch fish, but they always had a good time. Regg enjoyed walking his English bulldog, Mugsy, on the beach in Nags Head, searching for treasures. Regg had a knack for fixing items, and he always left things better than he found them. Mostly, he just enjoyed people, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife and friend of 47 years, Mary N. Majcher. It was a well-lived life together. Every day was a good day. He was loved. He was happy.

He is also survived by his sister, Roberta Sarsfield, and her husband, Richard, of Wilmington, Del.; his brothers, Gerald Majcher and his wife, Rosanne, of Springfield, Ohio, and Lawrence Majcher of Coraopolis; his niece and goddaughter, Jennifer (Aaron) Groth, and their children, Abby, Caden and Emery; and his nephews, Martin (Tuli) Sarsfield and their son, Robby, and Derek (Audrey) Sarsfield and their children, Kyle, Logan, Grace, Jeffery (Jessica) Majcher and Erik (Dee) Kelemen.

He will be so missed and long remembered by his wife, his wonderful family, cousins and friends: his best friend, Denny (Donna) Mason; his childhood friends since age 4, Harry (Judy) Rushe, Joe (Janet) Lewis, Wayne (Michele) Whittington and William Lawryk; and so many others.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jeanne Majcher.
