Louis A. “Lou” Bournique Jr., 84, of Butler passed away Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler on Feb. 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Frances Young Bournique Sr.

He was a department manager at Montgomery Ward, retiring after 38 years' service.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S. Teton.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

He was an avid Steelers fan, an avid golfer and a devoted family man.

He is survived by his wife, Rita M. Scarpitti Bournique; two sons, Rick Bournique and his wife, Laurie, of Jackson, N.J., and Randy Bournique and his wife, Judy, of Delaware, Ohio; one daughter, Lou Ann McGregor and her husband, Tim, of Fenelton; eight grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bournique and his wife, Caryl, of El Prado, N.M.; five sisters, Mary Lou Campbell of Trenton, Mich., Virginia Thompson of Willowiak, Ohio, Ann Bykowski of Bonita Springs, Fla., Barby Richards of Lake Wales, Fla., and Bette Bournique of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jacque Bournique; and one sister, Frances Gay.

<B>BOURNIQUE</B> — There will be no public visitation for Louis A. “Lou” Bournique Jr., who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2011. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Dolan officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to VNA Hospice of Butler.Arrangements were entrusted to the care of <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler.For more information, visit www.martinfh.net.
