Barry L. Sexton Sr.
Barry L. Sexton Sr., 62, of Butler passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Feb. 26, 1957, in Butler, and was the son of the late Sarah (Reed) Sexton.
Barry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and earned the National Defense Service Medal while enlisted.
A graduate of Rosedale Tech with a certificate in automotive and diesel mechanics, Barry dedicated over 30 years as a shift supervisor working for Wise Business Forms.
Barry was Presbyterian by faith.
A devoted Pirates fan, Barry enjoyed his annual father-son trip to baseball stadiums across the country. He was also an avid car enthusiast, and especially loved his Ford Mustang “Eleanor.”
Barry was hard-working and exceedingly giving in every aspect of his life. His rental properties, which he built from the ground up, were a source of great pride; Barry provided only the very best for his tenants.
He is survived by his son, Barry Sexton Jr. and daughter-in-law, Tammie Sexton, of Pittsburgh; one brother, Dave Sexton (Diane) of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sisters, Tana Lindsey of Prospect, and Jan Tempalski of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce Reed and Jerry Sexton.
SEXTON — Friends and family of Barry L. Sexton Sr., who died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert S.
