Melville Jane Uber

Melville Jane Uber, 85, of Harrisville passed away at 8:43 p.m. Monday at the Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, following a brief illness. She lived in the nursing home for one year.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1928, in Plain Grove to the late Francis Orrin Miles and S. Elizabeth Hamilton Miles.

She married Harold R. Uber on June 11, 1949, and moved to Harrisville in 1952.

Melville was a homemaker and a member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church, Harrisville. She was a member of the church choir and the women's quilting group in the church.

A graduate of Plain Grove High School, Class of 1946, she enjoyed traveling, camping with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Harold at home; her four children, Richard H. Uber and his wife, Kathy, of Conroe, Texas, Melane Humphrey of Harrisville, Cinda Husband and her husband, Merrick, of Grove City and Doreen Cline and her husband, Chuck, of Harrisville; her 10 grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Genevieve Hodgson of Newhall, Calif.; and her nephew, Jack Hogue and his wife, Lois, of Volant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law, Joe Humphrey.

Uber — Visitation for Melville Jane Uber, who passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at theCunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Chuck Cline, Mrs. Uber's son-in-law, officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery, Harrisville.Memorial donations in Mrs. Uber's name may be made to the Grove Manor Activities Fund, 435 N. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127.
