Weather advisory in place for forecast icy temps
Morning commuters might have slick roads to contend with Tuesday, Jan. 23, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter weather advisory is in place for Butler County, warning of rain and ice beginning at 1 a.m. and ending at noon Tuesday.
The time of highest impact will be Tuesday morning, said Colton Milcarek, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
According to Milcarek, below-freezing ground temperatures and overnight rain — which will freeze on impact — will contribute to the expected ice.
After noon, Milcarek said the ice should transition over to rain.
Winter weather will dissipate through the rest of the week, he said.
