Patterson, Zendron win PAC track titles
MORGANTOWN — Butler graduate and Saint Vincent College senior Tim Patterson won the 5,000-meter run at Friday night’s Pennsylvania Athletic Conference championships, held at West Virginia University’s Mylan Park.
Jenna Zendron, a Moniteau graduate and freshman at Westminster College, won the 400 meters on the women’s side, running a time of 59.17 seconds. She also anchored the 1,600 relay team that placed first with a time of 4:04.17.
Zendron was also recognized as the PAC’s Newcomer of the Year for her efforts.
BC3 golf finishes fourth at Jamestown CC Golf Invitational
CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. — Xander Downing shot a team-best 80, Devin Latsko an 81, and Cory Voltz an 83 as the Butler County Community College golf team finished fourth at Friday’s Jamestown Community College Golf Invitational.
At Chautauqua Golf Club, Jefferson Community College placed first on the day with a 311, while the Pioneers were 38 behind. BC3’s next match is Friday at North Park.
Bresnahan, Johnston team up for victory
WASHINGTON — Making his Hollywood Casino at The Meadows debut Saturday, Whata Trixter rallied through the stretch to break his maiden for trainer Nathan Bresnahan of Butler and driver Shawn Johnston of Evans City.
The 4-year-old gelding captured a $9,000 Conditioned Trot in 1:58.
