SR graduate Hart earns all-academic

Geneva College senior first baseman and Slippery Rock High School graduate Julia Hart has been named to the Academic All-District softball team by the College Sports Communicators.

Hart is also a finalist for CSC Academic All-America.

County team wins in harness racing

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Shawn Johnston of Evans City and Susan Callihan of Chicora teamed for a win with Adroit Hanover during harness racing action Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The 3-year-old filly won a $9,000 Conditioned Pace. Susan Callihan owns the horse with Gregory Callihan and Nichole Buchleitner, both of Chicora.

Elsewhere on the card, Slippery Rock’s Brady Brown powered Lady Sconset to victory in an $8,000 Optional Claiming Pace.
