Helicopter called for Pittsburgh Road crash
PENN TWP — A person was airlifted to a Pittsburgh-area hospital and another was injured Tuesday afternoon, June 11, following a two-vehicle crash near 365 Pittsburgh Road, according to Penn Township police.
A medical helicopter was requested around 2:20 p.m. to transport a male victim of a crash. According to dispatch, the male suffered several lacerations.
Penn Township police said the rear-end collision occurred as two trucks, one carrying a trailer, were traveling along the road. The truck that hit the trailer was towed from the scene.
Northbound and southbound traffic were rerouted to one lane each on the stretch of road near the incident. Penn Township police said Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
The crash is under investigation, according to Penn Township police.
