Clyde Rodger Kinney Sr.
Clyde Rodger Kinney Sr., 75, of Slippery Rock passed away Tuesday at the VNA Hospice in Butler following a brief illness.
Clyde was born July 7, 1942, in Prospect, a son of the late Joseph and Hazel Hodge Kinney.
He had been self-employed having owned and operated Kinney Lumber for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed spending a hard day's work out in the woods of Western Pennsylvania.
Any time Clyde could spend outdoors made him happy, especially when he could spend that time fishing at Moraine or napping under a tree. He would do anything to help a friend, and deeply loved his family.
Clyde had proudly served his country as a member of the U.S Army Reserves.
Clyde is survived by his girlfriend and caretaker, Maggie Johnson; his children, Rhonda (Steve) Houston, Chip Kinney and Kristy (Joe Moore) Kinney and their mother, Ann Kinney; his siblings, Paul Kinney, Art “Ike” Kinney, Joann and Yvonne; 12 grandsons; three granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hazel Kinney; and his siblings, Joseph “Bob” Kinney, Sam Kinney, Floyd Kinney and Jim Kinney.
