Fire destroys barn in Cherry Township
CHERRY TWP — A fire Friday afternoon destroyed a barn on Kiester Road.
The 30 by 30 foot wooden barn is on property owned by Ken Bennett at 916 Keister Road.
A tractor and other farm equipment were destroyed in the fire. Also a number of chickens died.
The barn was built in 2000.
Two other nearby barns were not damaged by the fire that was called in at 3:06 p.m.
The cause may have been electrical, according to the fire chief of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department.
No one was injured.
