Lindsay

Amelia Lindsay, 17, of Freeport was crowned Dayton Fair Queen on Aug. 12 in Dayton, Armstrong County.

She is the daughter of Lisa and Andy Lindsay of South Buffalo Township.

Amelia has been a member of 4-H for seven years, showing her cattle and swine.

She won first place with her chocolate cakes at the fair and will compete at the state level.

Amelia is an honor roll student and a senior at Freeport High School, where she is active in cheerleading.

She is also a gymnast and USAG Women’s Gymnastics judge.

Contestants were judged on poise, appearance, neatness, ability to communicate, knowledge of the fair industry, written essay, personal interview, speech presentation and introduction.

The Butler National Alliance on Mental Illness newly-elected board members are President Joyce Saunders, Vice President Kathy McDonnell, Treasurer Jerry Heller and Secretary Jennifer Patrick.

On Aug. 9, the Butler Duplicate Bridge Club winners were:
