Charles R. "Dick" Glace, 78, of 217 North Trail died Thursday at his home following an extended illness.

Born June 7, 1928, in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose Bresnahan Glace.

Mr. Glace was retired from the machine shop at Butler Armco where he worked for 38 years until his retirement in 1990. He also owned and operated the Country Kitchen Restaurant on Route 8 South from 1980 to 1990.

He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 117 in Butler.

He was a life member of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company and the Butler County Fire Chiefs Association. He also was a board member of the General Butler Vagabonds. His other memberships included the Armco Veterans Club and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.

He married Eleanor M. Leech on Oct. 18, 1952, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler and they are members of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor M. Glace; two daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Steven Behrens of Granby, Conn., and Barbara and Christopher Monday of Butler; four sons and their wives, Edward and Shawnee Glace of Pittsburgh, William and Julia Glace of Butler, Michael and Joyce Glace of Lower Burrell, and Raymond and Sherry Glace of Butler; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou Walters and Mrs. Jay (Virginia) Goettler, both of Butler.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, a stepgrandson, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

<B>GLACE</B> — Friends of Charles R. "Dick" Glace, who died Thursday, May 3, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills, with the Rev. Daniel J. Maurer officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsdale Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice Program, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001 or the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company, 311 Airport Road, Butler, PA 16002.
